He has competed full-time in the series since 2021 and secured the first two wins of his career earlier this season. With 10 podium finishes in 12 races, he sits in second place in the championship standings.Three-time Australian Supercars driver Shane van Gisbergen recently made his Cup Series debut with Trackhouse Racing Team’s PROJECT91 in the inaugural race at the brand-new Chicago Street Course.Van Gisbergen’s victory in the first ever Cup Series street race, which has led to speculation that he could be making a full-time switch to the Cup Series in the near future, resulted in a lot of attention being directed toward the Australian series as far as additional international stars competing at NASCAR’s top level. Now that is already set to come to fruition. Kostecki is set to drive the No. 33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in this race, competing alongside full-time drivers Austin Dillon (No. 3 Chevrolet) and Kyle Busch (No. 8 Chevrolet). His car is set to carry sponsorship from cellular carrier MobileX and Australian-based technology company VAILO.The No. 33 Chevrolet is a non-chartered entry and made just one appearance in the Cup Series last year, when Xfinity Series driver Austin Hill made his Cup Series debut for the team at Michigan International Speedway. The Verizon 200 at the Brickyard is set to be broadcast live on NBC from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course starting at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 13. This race is the 24th race on the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, so there are still three more races on the calendar before then. All remaining races on this year’s schedule are set to be shown live on either NBC or USA Network, so begin a free trial of FuboTV now!Published on 07/19/2023 at 7:45 AM EDTLast updated on 07/19/2023 at 7:45 AM EDT
