LEBANON – It’s race day at Nashville Superspeedway for the NASCAR Cup Series’ third annual Ally 400. This will be a Nashville night race – the first scheduled Cup race under the lights at the superspeedway.Ross Chastain, who drives for Nashville-based Trackhouse Racing is on the pole for the first time in his Cup career. He is joined on the front row by Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing.Kevin Harvick, who is retiring after this year, is in Row 2 in the fourth spot.Carson Hocevar won the weekend’s Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday and A.J. Allmendinger won the Xfinity race on Saturday.Ross Chastain wins first NASCAR Cup race of 2023Ross Chastain drove Trackhouse Racing to a win on its home track, holding off Martin Truex Jr. for the victory in the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway.The win is the first for Chastain in 2023 after getting two wins a year ago. Trackhouse Racing, which is owned by Justin Marks and Pitbull, is located in Nashville.Chastain picked up his first NASCAR Cup Series pole on Saturday for the Ally 400. He was dominant throughout the race, staying in the top five through much of the race.Lap 185: Denny Hamlin wins Stage 2Denny Hamlin won Stage 2 at the Ally 400 on Sunday, holding off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Martin Truex Jr.Ross Chastain, William Byron and Christopher Bell round out the top five. Bell makes three Joe Gibbs Racing cars in the top five.Lap 146: Ryan Blaney crash includes two other carsThe first caution of the race has brought out the second caution. On the restart on Lap 146 following Tyler Reddick’s caution. The wreck started when Brad Keselowski couldn’t get his No. 6 car to accelerate on the restart.Ryan Blaney hit the inside wall head on. Kyle Busch and Alex Bowman also had damage to their cars.Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin are first and second respectively.Lap 138: Caution for Tyler Reddick losing tireTyler Reddick lost a right rear tire on lap 138, perhaps spoiling a strong performance in the Ally 400. Reddick lost a tire just as he was approaching pit road. Reddick spun just before pit road, losing his tire on pit road.Reddick had been racing in the top five and led more than 30 laps before the incident.Martin Truex Jr. is in the lead and Denny Hamilin is second. Brad Keselowski restarts third and Bubba Wallace is fourth.Lap 101: Martin Truex Jr. takes leadNow Martin Truex Jr. is leading the Ally 400. He took the lead around Lap 101. William Byron is currently second and polesitter Ross Chastain is third.William Byron leader out of pits after Stage 1There is a new race leader in the Ally 400. William Byron took the lead after the first stage when he beat the field out of the pits. Ross Chastain remains second. Noah Gragson will start third and Tyler Reddick is fourth.End of Stage 1: Tyler Reddick leader after 90 lapsTyler Reddick picked up his third NASCAR Cup Series stage win of the 2023 season on Sunday. Reddick won Stage 1 of the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Reddick passed polesitter Ross Chastain on lap 60 and led the remaining 30 laps.Chastain finished second, William Byron was third, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin round out the top five.Kyle Busch, who had to pit on lap 16 due to a tire issue, finished seventh and is back on the lead lap.Lap 61: Tyler Reddick takes leadTyler Reddick takes lead on pole sitter Ross Chastain on lap 61. Reddick and Chastain have battled since then but Chastain hasn’t been able to over take him.Lap 16: Kyle Busch needs tiresKyle Busch is the first to pit after he rolls in pit road for tires on Lap 16 after reporting something wrong with his car.He is now one lap down.Ally 400 start time moved upNASCAR has moved the start time for the Nashville night race up to 6:05 p.m. after it was originally scheduled to start at 6:22 p.m.The reason?
