Every February in Daytona, a new NASCAR Cup Series season begins with not just the pursuit of a Daytona 500 trophy, but also the pursuit of a Cup championship. Now, Daytona in August means that pursuit either begins anew for 16 drivers or comes to an end for the rest of them.The NASCAR Cup Series regular season has reached its finale, with Race 26 being the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. 15 drivers enter this race vying for two remaining spots on the NASCAR Playoffs grid, with Ryan Blaney and Martin Truex Jr. holding the final two spots over more than a dozen drivers facing must-win scenarios.That group includes some of NASCAR’s biggest stars, past Daytona winners and potential spoilers alike. Brad Keselowski, Bubba Wallace and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are all looking for playoff spots after contending for the win in February’s Daytona 500. So too are Erik Jones, Aric Almirola, Austin Dillon and Michael McDowell — plus plenty more who could change their playoff destinies, and knock either Blaney or Truex out of the playoffs, with a win.After heavy rain throughout the day and into the night on Saturday, NASCAR has postponed the Coke Zero Sugar 400 to Sunday at 10 a.m. ET. More news on the Kyle Busch front came through earlier today, with Busch making the exciting and groundbreaking announcement that he has no announcement to make concerning whether or not he’ll be back with Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota.Following Busch’s press conference, David Wilson of Toyota Racing Development also spoke to reporters, stressing that the automaker is still trying to work out a deal to keep Busch in the fold.
